English is the only compulsory subject for the award of the HSC, and at least the best 2 units of English must count towards your ATAR at the end of year 12. English is therefore going to have a direct effect on your HSC results, and whether you get into the university and course of your choice. Preliminary English is an excellent opportunity for students to develop the analytical and writing skills needed to succeed in year 12. As year 11 does not count towards the HSC, students should follow a program that gives them as much relevant practice to HSC English as possible.

HSC English will count towards your HSC and ATAR, so it is important to achieve your best in this subject.
